A little about Tim…
On a field-trip in middle school to NASA, I borrowed my parents’ 126 Kodak film camera with flash cubes. Needless to say, the pictures didn’t come out at all like I expected or wanted. That started me on my photo journey through high school and later.
I started off shooting film like many of you, but just before my film SLRs and lenses were to become obsolete, I sold them with the intent to reinvest in some new digital cameras, but life got in the way and never did. (Insert a long dissolve to represent a ten year lapse of little photography, other than my wife’s snapshot camera).
In 2008, I finally bought my first DSLR. Then in the fall of 2010, I discovered HDR, or High Dynamic Range photos, via Stuckincustoms.com. Trey Ratcliff’s photos blew me away. I was intrigued if I could create anything as beautiful as his photos and decided that I had to try.
Well, I’m still learning and still trying. I don’t get to travel as much as Trey does (I don’t think anyone does) but it has given me a new passion for photography of all types. I encourage anyone that wants to take better photos to just jump in and shoot. Digital photography has made it cheaper and easier for anyone to get involved… and create.
Portfollio
I use SmugMug to host my images. Be sure to visit there to see larger versions with more detail and color than the reduced size photos you view here on the blog. You can visit the portfolio by either clicking on the link in the main menu bar, or any photo on the site.
NEW – To make it easy, you may now purchase photos for personal use from SmugMug. Just use the “Buy” button in the top right corner when viewing any photo on the portfolio site, or below many more recent photos, you will find a “Order a print of this photo” direct link.
