The Spirit of Flight

I have mentioned before how it feels to walk among our country’s history of aviation at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum.  That special feeling hits you the moment you walk in. Just above the foyer is the Spirit of St. Louis, the Bell X-1 and SpaceShipOne, each special for their own accomplishments. If you don’t recall what each are famous for, take a quick peek here.

  1. Such a great HDR photo. The texture on the wall really pops, and adds a ncie backdrop to the suspended aircraft. Its a very natural result, without being overly surreal. Nice job.

  2. Great shot – really captures several of the BIG moments in aviation history! Nice HDR work, too.
