Look Up

This is one of the first HDR images I ever processed. It was shot back in the spring of 2011, just after my very first photo walk. It’s the ceiling light fixture in the Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas. It was just above where I took this other shot of the check-in desk. It’s a wonderful historic hotel in downtown Austin. You would be lucky to stay there if you ever have the chance.

Photo walks are a great way to get out and look for images, things that would normally pass you by, but deserve a closer, longer look.

Love the vibrant colors here. Nice POV too

I like the Driskill hotel, such a beautiful building. There’s a pretty good steakhouse next door if I recall correctly. Anyway, nice image. The colors are well presented.

It would be nice to go back late one night and shoot the lobby when few people are around.
