Jake’s Garage

The country is at war and nothing is the same as it used to be. Fathers, uncles and brothers have gone overseas to fight in this second World War, as some are in the Pacific, while others in Europe. Here at home, it’s not unusual to find businesses closed while the owner is off to war, or their wife working the family business, trying to help it survive long enough until they return.

Jake’s Garage is another scene from the Home Front U.S.A. exhibit at the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, Florida.

  1. I love the sign on Jake’s front door! Whoever set up and designed these rooms/vignettes is very talented! Thanks for sharing them.
