The Track Less Traveled

They say the only thing constant is change. While some things change quickly, others can be a bit slower. The life of a town or city has a cycle. They start small, grow, then people start to leave downtown and spread to the suburbs. The suburbs get crowded, then folks move back downtown after a “revitalization”.

The businesses in the cities will change too. What started as an agriculture based economy might change to tech or manufacturing. Or in the case of some suburbs, they just seem to specialize in Walmarts and grocery stores.

The vanishing lines of these seldom used tracks are by the Katy Rice Mill, west of Houston.
