The Henry VIII Gateway at Windsor Castle

It’s been an enjoyable ride through the English countryside and you’re glad to be on a tour bus instead of taking a subway somewhere. You look over and spot it through the trees, your first castle. And a fine castle it is too. Windsor Castle is about as nice as they get. It should be, since the Queen lives there occasionally. Walking around the castle up to the entrance for tourists, you get a sense for how large the entire complex is.

There is a lot to see, though you can’t just roam everywhere you want. Much of it is off limits, considering national security and all. Though the Henry VIII gateway in the Lower Ward entrance isn’t as large as the main entrance to the castle, it’s still quite impressive.
