Old Country Cabin

Growing up in the suburbs, I haven’t had a chance to “rough it” in the country as much as I would like. When I do have the opportunity to get out of town, I appreciate the open spaces, the trees and even the silence that it offers.

Though not what I would consider a great vacation resort, this small cabin is where I might enjoy spending a few nights away from the city. Listening to the wind blow through the trees is much nicer than the sounds of cars buzzing down the street. I’m not sure, but I’m hoping there’s a microwave and big screen TV inside and a bottle of¬†mosquito¬†repellant on the porch.

This was taken at Camp Tejas, close to Giddings, Texas.

  1. It does look inviting. Living in silence with a good book and rocking on the front porch… Got to have a screen door that’s creaky that you can just softly let go as you walk in or out of the little cabin. Reminds me of home a long time ago.

  2. I’m thinking you may be out of luck looking for the big screen and microwave there. I don’t think you are going to miss them though with a swing on the front porch like that.

    Nice Capture.
