Go Ahead, Make My Day

Walking around the Dover Castle is a great experience. You never know what to expect around the next turn. Since the castle is built on a hill, some of the construction ventures down the side towards the “moat” so to speak. Spaced about those walls are windows where enemy invaders might think are a good spot to try to enter. That would have proved a bad assumption, because there would have been a small surprise waiting for them.

Down in the tunnels leading to those windows were canons protecting the castle from unwanted visitors. I can only imagine how loud it may have been when those canons were firing. It was extremely dark in these areas, and since this image is not as sharp as most, I took the liberty to grunge it up slightly. Hope you don’t mind.
