Let Sleeping Lizards Lie

It is really incredible the color and hues that the animal kingdom has. Birds probably come in with the most colorful specimens, but this lizard does a great job representing the reptile family in the multi-color category. Looking at the color of its head, I have to wonder if this sleeping lizard isn’t a Green Bay Packers Cheesehead.

This resting reptile was found at the Dallas World Aquarium.  It was around two feet long and only opened its eyes for a moment, before I was in position to shoot. Of course, as long as I stood there, it didn’t dare open its eyes.
