Miniature Warfare

Models are a great way to see things in scale. Except for video, it would be hard for someone to get a 360 degree view around something as large as an aircraft carrier. But with detailed models like you find at the National Naval Aviation Museum, you can do just that. They have very large scale models of most aircraft carriers, new and old.

This model shows an F-14 Tomcat sitting on the deck of the USS Enterprise (CVN-65), the world’s first nuclear-powered, aircraft carrier and the eighth United States naval vessel to bear the name. Kids of all ages can appreciate the time and skill it takes to put one of these together.

The large cases covering the models did make it difficult to get a clear shot. The case frame or reflections always seemed to be  in the wrong spot, which limits what you can shoot.
