Sunsets at the beach or anywhere on the water just seems prettier than almost anywhere else. Most marinas stay busy during the day, but at night, everything slows down to a standstill, or at least as much as the slow rocking of the boats allow them to be still. I had the fortune of spending the night on a large boat at a marina once. The slight creaking sounds and the gentle rock made it one of my best night’s sleep ever. I can see why some folks like to live on boats, even if they never go anywhere. This is another view of a peaceful sunset at the Pensacola Marina in Florida.
Some have compared Piccadilly Circus to Times Square in New York City. They are both unique intersections with large electronic billboards and attractions of all kinds. We arrived after a very long day of touring around London and I didn't have my tripod, so I leaned up against a building across the street for this image. Ripley's Believe It or Not! stood out from the other buildings that evening, lit up with its own colorful lights. The building is the former London Pavilion, which has been everything from a music hall, to a cinema, to a shopping arcade. Directly underneath the Circus is Piccadilly Circus tube station, part of the London Underground system.
The Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart is located in the shadow of downtown Houston. It replaced the older building when it opened in 2008. This is the top of the dome, sitting high atop the cathedral and only seen when standing at a distance. I have yet to see the church inside, but the photos I have seen says it would be a great place to shoot sometime.
