Canal Street at Night One of the things I enjoy about staying at a downtown hotel is the view. Not having ever worked in a tall office building, I always enjoy going up high and looking at a city from above. This view is from the Sheraton hotel in downton New Orleans, looking down Canal Street towards the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas by the Mississippi River. This is one of those photos you want to click on to see a higher resolution version.
The Early Bird They say the early bird catches the worm. But if you're the early boat that has the worms, then you're catching fish. There's something magical about loading up the boat before sunrise and hitting the water just as the sun comes up. The water is calm and though things are still quiet, the birds are starting to stir. Then the sound of the outboard revs up and echoes across the top of the water, breaking the stillness of the new day. These fishermen are pulling out from Shoreline Park in Pensacola, with the Pensacola Beach Bridge in the background.
