Bigger in Texas We all know that everything is bigger in Texas, especially the cattle. The breed everyone instantly recognizes is the longhorn cattle. It's so popular that the University of Texas mascot is a longhorn. It's hard to imagine how long those horns really are until you see one in person. This sculpture is "Maverick the Spirit of Texas" by Billie Evans in the Houston Zoo. The light wasn't great on this hazy, overcast morning when this was taken, but sometimes you just have to take what you can get.
Sunrise on the Beach Nothing starts the week out like a beautiful sunrise, unless of course you're on vacation at the beach or other favorite get-away. Like most folks, I'm at work this week, but looking back on memories like this help brighten up the time, until once again, I get to experience it first hand.
Truck Tough I like trucks. What can I say? The bigger the better. There's nothing like a big tough truck when going for groceries or to the movies. And while this isn't meant to be an advertisement (no, I'm not getting paid) my preference is Ford. I'm sure the other brands have great reasons why they are great too, but's it's the brand I like. I had one once and hope to again one day. You see, the wife needed a minvan and the truck had to go, but that's a sad story for another time. We all have preferences for certain things. Food, music, people, and even trucks. We like what we like and can't explain why.
