Fishing Piers If you ever visit Pensacola Beach in Florida, then you can’t miss two things, the beach ball water tower and the Pensacola Beach Fishing Pier. The pier is a fun place to walk on, but make sure you take a walk under it also. The waves crashing against the piers can be quite a site when the waves get rough. Early in the morning or late in the evening things can be very calm too, so it’s always an interesting place to visit. Take your camera as there is always a lot of people watching to be had, or at least the always present, camera-happy seagulls.
The Castle on a Hill You don’t have to be a historian to realize that Dover Castle is the real McCoy. As you approach the main gate, you notice the low gully surrounding much of the structure facing the mainland. This surely made it difficult for any invading army to scale its wall during battle. The other side faces the English Channel, with an even higher climb up the White Cliffs of Dover.
NASA's T-38 The Northrop T-38 was used by the Air Force as a two-seat, supersonic trainer and was used by NASA's research pilots for proficiency and mission support flights. With its lower fuel burn rate and maintenance costs, the T-38 is cheaper to operate than the larger and faster F-18. This is the model plane that you always saw escort the shuttle each time it returned to earth. In Houston, we saw many of the astronauts return to Ellington Field after their missions flying these. It's a plane that isn't large, but looks like it would be a lot of fun to fly. I'm available if anyone takes one up soon.
