Lollipop What kids doesn't like a great big ole lollipop? Big and colorful and full of sugar. Yum! Candy stores are made for grandparents. Fill the grandkids up with all kinds of good sweets, then send them home to the unsuspecting parents. I've been on the receiving end of that trick before and it's no fun, let me tell you. Stores are funny places to take photos. Some managers don't care at all, while others act like they would be giving away company secrets if anyone took a photo. Sometimes you just have to be sneaky. This one was shot from the hip, so to speak.
Bigger in Texas We all know that everything is bigger in Texas, especially the cattle. The breed everyone instantly recognizes is the longhorn cattle. It's so popular that the University of Texas mascot is a longhorn. It's hard to imagine how long those horns really are until you see one in person. This sculpture is "Maverick the Spirit of Texas" by Billie Evans in the Houston Zoo. The light wasn't great on this hazy, overcast morning when this was taken, but sometimes you just have to take what you can get.
